BUSH & BEACH & CONSERVATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1: Arrive at King Shaka Airport. A Thanda Private Game Reserve representative will pick you up and drive you to the lodge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanda Private Game Reserve <\/strong>offers guests a true safari experience immersed in Zulu culture with a focus on conservation. Thanda was born from the merger of several cattle ranches and the dream of creating harmony between man and nature.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Landscape rehabilitation, alien vegetation clearing, fencing, water monitoring, managing all the complex dynamics of a Big Five game reserve, including translocating or introducing animals to ensure genetic diversity \u2013 this is all part of the daily life of Thanda Safari\u2019s conservation team. In addition, a range of ongoing research projects on the reserve ensuring that Thanda Safari Private Game Reserve contributes to leading-edge conservation strategies and methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Included on one day is a Rhino-Darting-Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be in close contact with a rhino.  Witness the darting of this prehistoric animal and assist the wildlife team in notching the sedated rhino for identification and research purposes, before releasing it back into the wild.  The price includes the helicopter that is used in locating the rhino, as well as all costs involved in the darting, genetic sampling and notching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 5: After the morning activity and breakfast, a representative from Thanda Safari Lodge will drive you to Kosi border crossing. A representative of the White Pearl Resort will be waiting for you there and after all immigration formalities have been completed, you will drive to the resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

White Pearl<\/strong> is surrounded by sand dunes in southern Mozambique. Let yourself be enchanted by this fairytale setting. It is characterized by its unique location on the fine sandy, pristine beach of Mozambique’s lagoon coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A marine surveillance program was established in 1994 to monitor and protect the turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs. The presence of turtle keepers is vital to the protection of these endangered turtles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing Pearls offers guests the opportunity to get involved and share in the vision of supporting the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lodge loves to take guests on a tour of the surrounding villages, not only to experience the different cultures, but also to see current and future Growing Pearls projects. Guests can donate, or they have the opportunity to physically participate in our project activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
